My Background

Before I joined The People Side, I worked for the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL). I started my career with CCL in their EMEA office based in Brussels, where I led across their Sales, Operations and Training functions. I later moved to CCL's North Carolina headquarters to run their East-Coast Regional Coaching Practice and eventually managed the entire organization’s pool of executive coaches.

Throughout my career, I have worked on projects across a wide range of industries, including FMCG, Pharmaceuticals, Telecommunications, Chemicals, and Financial Services. I am a highly experienced coach and facilitator, and have led an array of training programs, including communication skills training and a coach training program that was accredited by the International Coach Federation.

Prior to my experience in leadership development, I spent over ten years building successful technology-based start-ups in California and Europe, which included leadership roles in Product Management, Sales and Marketing, and Operations.

I completed my undergraduate work at the University of California, Los Angeles and have a Masters degree in Organizational Behavior from the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) at Alliant University in Los Angeles.

Why I Work

“I strive to create a meaningful impact on both individuals and organizations. I live for those moments when I am partnering with big thinkers to achieve big-time results. I am energized by the work we do and enjoy learning from our clients, participants, coaches, and the experts I work alongside of.”

I live in Greensboro, North Carolina with my wife Lisa and our two teen-aged children, Finn and Ben. I have dual citizenship from the Netherlands and the United States, but spent most of my life enjoying the sand and surf of Southern California’s coastline. We moved to the medieval city of Ghent, Belgium for 9 years before moving back to the US. In North Carolina we love living near the lush hiking trails of the Piedmont Area where we walk our dog Joey, a big furry German Shepherd that we brought back from Belgium. When I am not working I enjoy being with my family, being outdoors, mountain biking, and swimming long distances.
