My Background

As a systems thinker and service oriented human being, I have gravitated to opportunities which have allowed me to deliver tangible organizational results through people focused initiatives.

Early in my career I started out as a Program Director for Michigan’s AmeriCorps, where my role was to support our communities in building highly effective and impactful programs. It’s through this work that I discovered the field of Organizational Development, which is the science and art of building effective organizations, through people, processes and systems.

For over 20 years I have had the privilege to serve as an executive leader, coach, and consultant building talent, change and organizational effectiveness strategies. My internal roles have ranged from developing the employee experience and talent strategy for a fast growing start up, to serving as the Vice President of Human Resources at a $6B healthcare organization with 50,000 employees where I was responsible for leading the talent and culture strategy following a $1B acquisition.

Having led large scale change as an executive, I gravitate towards partnering with progressive thought leaders who are bringing big ideas to life around healthy leaders, teams and organizations. I am skilled in working with new and experienced executives as they navigate complex challenges and lead through uncertain times while striving to achieve ambitious goals, which require the alignment of systems, culture and people to achieve them. My clients appreciate my ability to translate their ideas into a practical, logical, implementable plans and my background in coaching which creates new paradigms for what is possible.

Why I Work

“People and organizations are always evolving.  I am energized working with talented teams and leaders who are taking their organizations to the next level.  I am wired for innovation, systems thinking, relationships and achieving results. I live in Alexandria, Virginia with my husband, two sons and our two cats.  After 17 years of living in Phoenix, Arizona, we are grateful to be surrounded by green trees and bodies of water!

One fun thing to know about our family is we took 12 months off to travel around the world — visiting 20 countries and 6 continents.  If you are ever in the DC area and see a car with the plate RTWFAM, that’s us!

Now that we are settled back in the States, we are enjoying the simple pleasures of life—neighborhood social gatherings, swimming in our community pool, and riding our bikes down the 18 mile Mt. Vernon Trail which George Washington once travelled regularly on his ride from his home at Mt. Vernon and Washington D.C.  I also enjoy reading fiction books, horseback riding and working out at Orange Theory Fitness.
