My Background

Throughout my career in human resources, I have leveraged my business acumen and leadership knowledge to help leaders made their greatest impact and be their best self at work. As both an internal coach and external executive coach I have worked with leaders in small, medium, non-profit and Fortune 500 companies. I had the priviledge to start and lead an internal coaching function at Best Buy, Inc. that brought coaching to manager and director level leaders to grow the talent of the future.

After graduting from the University of St Thomas, I worked as a plant HR manager for a printed circuit board manufactorer and then as Director of HR for Simon MOA (Mall of America) Mangement Company. After navigating mutiple employment law issues in those roles I decided to deepen my impact as an HR leader by obtaining a Juris Doctorate from William Mitchell College of Law. I worked as an employment attorney for approximately 3 years at Fredrikson and Byron, PA before returning to HR at Best Buy.

My interest in coaching began early in my 16-year tenure as a senior human resources leader at Best Buy. Rather than simply advise executives on how to be more effective, I sought to coach them instead—and, within that framework, to make them accountable for their progress. It prompted me to become credentialed from several leading coaching organizations and focus my efforts in leadership development.

Why I Work

“When people truly want to grow and put their best effort towards that growth, amazing things happen. It’s remarkable to be a part of that change. But change is not easy, which is why leaders want (and need) support. True sustainable growth involves shifts in how we think to drive behavior change. I lead with neuroscience to help clients access the power of insight to change unwanted behaviors and create new habits. The habits can change not only the leader’s experience but the experience of anyone who comes into contact with that leader.”

When I Am Not Working

I live in the Twin Cities metropolitan area of Minnesota with my husband Dan and three children, Beck, Vaugn, and Capria. Dan is my college sweetheart and we have been happily married for over 25 years. Our family loves to travel, play and watch sports, and spend time together. In an effort to channel our two young sons’ energy positively, we became black belts in Kung Fu. I love Gopher and Vikings football, entertaining and cooking, fitness, reading a good novel, and dreams of the ocean at our retirement home in Hilton Head South Carolina.
