Claire Williams is a skilled executive coach, a compelling facilitator, and an innovative leadership development designer. Claire emanates warmth and wit, quickly creating trust and lightness in relationships and groups. From that place, she invites people into the never-easy-but-always-worth-it work of transforming their leadership. Clients say Claire infuses meaning and depth into every interaction, generating powerful dialogue and taking the conversation deeper to get to the heart of the issue. She knows when to challenge and integrates business realities with human realities to foster expansive thinking, insight and action in leaders. As a designer, she creates uniquely powerful developmental experiences that inspire and equip leaders and organizations to thrive. Past participants have described her leadership programs as the best developmental experiences they’ve ever encountered.

I can honestly say I’ve grown exponentially since working with Claire. As an introverted person I am now speaking up more in front of my leadership team and I have more presence during important meetings. I get this feedback consistently not just from my leader but from other leaders at my organization. Claire will find opportunities for you to reach into yourself to find your true strengths and encourage you to pursue them, and I can honestly say I’ve never felt stronger.
— Marketing Leader, Financial Services Corporation
Claire helped me uncover things about myself that I thought I’d resolved and conquered. Claire quickly identified tactics I found effective and used those tactics during our sessions to help me see all I am truly capable of. She lifted me up each session and gave me strategies I can use in my everyday life to constantly improve. I highly recommend Claire as an executive coach. She will identify how to best engage you, help you see your capabilities and make you feel amazing through the entire journey.
— Business Leader, Target Corporation

One of my greatest joys in life is watching the leaders and teams I work with ignite the brilliance within them. I built a truly fulfilling career as a leadership development consultant and coach at Target, a Fortune 50 retailer, where I coached leaders and designed and facilitated leadership programs and team interventions on topics such as influence, team effectiveness, leading change, meaningful conversations, prioritization, cross-functional collaboration, and innovation. I recently "made the leap" and left the corporate world to work with The People Side full-time as Talent Development Leader, Executive Coach and Facilitator. I've trained and coached hundreds of leaders in dozens of organizations across five continents, including General Mills, General Electric, Best Buy, and of course, Target. I have also served as Adjunct Faculty for the University of St. Thomas Executive Education Program. I’m a voracious learner and love that my work compels me to invest in my own development and then pay it forward to my clients. I received a Masters in Organization Development and Change as well as a Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching from the University of St. Thomas. I am a certifiedAssociate Professional Coach (ACC) through the International Coach Federation. I’m also certified in Hogan Assessments, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), The Leadership Circle Profile, EQi 2.0 & EQ360, FIRO-B, and Influence Style Inventory, and I’ve completed advanced studies in Adult Development Theory.

Today I partner with organizations looking for a practitioner who sees the interconnections between business results and human potential and knows how to seamlessly accelerate both. I quickly build credibility and trust, get curious about what’s really needed in each situation, then use deep listening, provocative questions, and curated experiences to launch leaders to higher heights. The work I find most rewarding is coaching high-potential leaders who are hungry to do their inner work and facilitating small-group sessions with leaders who want to dig deep and transform in community.

I believe our workplaces are so much more than just places to complete projects and receive paychecks. Organizations have the potential to be fertile ground for meaning, growth and impact in both individuals and communities. They are the places where people figure out what they’re capable of, what difference they can make to others, what barriers get in their way, and how to overcome them. And they are the places where the solutions and products that impact our communities begin. The work I do is ultimately about unleashing potential in people and organizations. The dream that keeps me going is the ripple effect I know great leadership can have on people, on organizations, on families, on communities, and in our increasingly complex world.

A former Memphis gal, I’ve now acclimatized to (and even fallen in love with) the snowy Twin Cities in Minnesota. I’m a recovering over-achiever and credit motherhood with helping me change my own definition of success. My kids invite me to let go of compulsively accomplishing everything - from degrees to laundry – and to live fully in the present moment. This has made me more joyful, grateful, and alive. A glass of red wine and a good book here and there have helped, too. My husband Rob founded and leads a non-profit that fights child hunger in our community. Together we’re raising our delightfully intense son Amos and our spunky daughter Mabel, who are convinced our Goldendoodle Webster is the third sibling. Fun fact: during the 2018 holiday season, my whole clan (dog and all) modeled matching family pajamas for Target's website - photo evidence below.
