MY BACKGROUND

One of my greatest joys in life is watching the leaders and teams I work with ignite the brilliance within them. I have built a truly fulfilling career as a leadership development consultant and coach at Target, a Fortune 50 retailer, where I coach leaders and design and facilitate leadership programs and team interventions on topics such as influence, team effectiveness, leading change, meaningful conversations, prioritization, cross-functional collaboration, and innovation. I also work as an independent coach and leadership development practitioner, now having trained and coached hundreds of leaders in dozens of organizations across five continents, including General Mills, General Electric, Best Buy, and Target. I have also served as Adjunct Faculty for the University of St. Thomas Executive Education Program. I’m a voracious learner and love that my work compels me to invest in my own development and then pay it forward to my clients. I received a Masters in Organization Development and Change as well as a Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching from the University of St. Thomas. I am a certified Associate Professional Coach (ACC) through the International Coach Federation. I’m also certified in Hogan Assessments, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), The Leadership Circle Profile, FIRO-B, and Influence Style Inventory, and I’ve completed advanced studies in Adult Development Theory.

Today I partner with organizations looking for a practitioner who sees the interconnections between business results and human potential and knows how to seamlessly accelerate both. I quickly build credibility and trust, get curious about what’s really needed in each situation, then use deep listening, provocative questions, and curated experiences to launch leaders to higher heights. The work I find most rewarding is coaching high-potential leaders who are hungry to do their inner work and facilitating small-group sessions with leaders who want to dig deep and transform in community.

 

WHY I WORK

I believe our workplaces are so much more than just places to complete projects and receive paychecks. Organizations have the potential to be fertile ground for meaning, growth and impact in both individuals and communities. They are the places where people figure out what they’re capable of, what difference they can make to others, what barriers get in their way, and how to overcome them. And they are the places where the solutions and products that impact our communities begin. The work I do is ultimately about unleashing potential in people and organizations. The dream that keeps me going is the ripple effect I know great leadership can have on people, on organizations, on families, on communities, and in our increasingly complex world.

WHEN I AM NOT WORKING

A former Memphis gal, I’ve now acclimatized to (and even fallen in love with) the snowy Twin Cities in Minnesota. I’m a recovering over-achiever and credit motherhood with helping me change my own definition of success. My kids invite me to let go of compulsively accomplishing everything - from degrees to laundry – and to live fully in the present moment. This has made me more joyful, grateful, and alive. A glass of red wine and a good book here and there have helped, too. My husband Rob founded and leads a non-profit that fights child hunger in our community. Together we’re raising our delightfully intense son Amos (4) and our spunky daughter Mabel (1), who are convinced our Goldendoodle Webster is the third sibling.
