MY BACKGROUND

Throughout my career I have been developing talent — from entry-level managers through executive leaders, I help people learn and grow at work. After a 25 year career leading HR functions and programs at American Express, GE Capital, GE Crotonville Leadership Training Center and Avon Products, I established a training and consulting practice specializing in talent development. I enjoy helping leaders see the connection between the performance of their people and the performance of their company.

I have had an extensive career in various segments of business and leadership development including executive coaching, learning strategies, facilitation, and change management. This has given me the ability to transform static siloed learning modules into dynamic skill-building experiential models that improve process design, corporate branding, employee engagement and retention.

WHY I WORK

I have spent the majority of my life helping individuals and teams learn and develop. Whether I was in a business role or an HR leadership role I have worked to make sure that the group was involved and engaged in their work, the business and with each other. It makes the workplace a worthwhile place to be.

WHEN I AM NOT WORKING

I grew up in Ohio, lived in New York City for 15 years, and now live in Plainfield, New Jersey. My non-work time is occupied by several passions. I am earning my Black Belt in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and discovered that my stand up game is pretty good but I’m lousy at the ground game. Always something to learn.

Also, we recently remodeled our kitchen where I’m learning how to bake artisan bread. I’m now one of those geeks that has a sourdough starter and tries to spend one full day a week baking. There is nothing like digging into a crisp crusted round of bread.

In between all of that, Opera is a deep personal passion. You will often find me on my porch, listening to the live radio broadcast on a Saturday afternoon or singing full-throated in my car on the way to a consulting gig. With a name like Rocco, you might understand why my passion for boxing, food, and opera are all deeply connected and deeply ingrained in me.
