I’m amazed at what a difference coaching with Michelle has made in my work and life! She helped me become aware of behaviors and mindsets that were getting in my way, and as a result, I am changing the way I interact with my fellow leaders and team. This stuff works!
— Marketing Leader, GE
Michelle came into my world at a pivotal time and helped me create a vision, language, and ‘measuring stick’ for making moves personally and professionally. I would hands down recommend Michelle.

After graduating from Gustavus Adolphus College with a degree in Communications I took a full-time role with a temporary staffing firm and quickly got promoted to the Branch Manager position at a new office in Sioux Falls, SD. From there, I held recruitment leadership roles at PRO/EX, AT&T Wireless, Archivers and Target. At Post Consumer Brands, I have worked as the Talent Acquisition Manager, Senior HR Business Partner and became the HR Director in 2018 — coaching and advising leaders at all levels of their organization.

My passion and skill for coaching has been a constant in my career. I am known as someone who is willing and able to have tough conversations while maintaining trust, respect, compassion and space for people to share their emotions. I am seen as a trusted confidante who will say what needs to be said and who holds people accountable for doing what they say they want to do.

It is a pleasure and an honor to lead the Executive Coaching practice at The People Side. It is the culmination of all my work experience and passions. I look forward to growing the careers of other amazing coaches and facilitators in this role.

In addition to the work we are doing at The People Side, I am thrilled to be writing the book “Finding Your Z” with Candyce and offering coaching experiences for people near or on the water.

There is nothing more fulfilling for me than seeing people live and work fully as themselves. As a coach, I love to witness those moments of clarity where it all comes into focus for someone – it literally gives me goosebumps! This world needs more leaders who show up wholeheartedly as themselves and encourage people in their organizations to do that as well. I can think of nothing more exciting than helping facilitate that change for leaders and teams.

I live on a lake about 45 minutes south of Minneapolis, MN with my husband Brent, who is an elementary school teacher, and my three daughters – Bailey, Avery and Finley. In my spare time, you can find me at the swimming pool cheering on our oldest daughter, at the volleyball courts cheering on our middle daughter, or the gymnastics center with our youngest. In the summer, I spend every moment I can on the water – pontoon rides, kayaking, paddle boarding, floating or just sitting on my deck watching the sunset with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. I need water the same way most people need oxygen – it is my happy place!

We don’t travel often, since our home is our favorite vacation destination, but when we do you can bet it has a beach and an ocean view! I am a voracious reader, and books about personal growth and leadership are my jam. I actually fell in love with coaching many years ago because of a magazine article I read by Martha Beck, called “Finding Your North Star.”

I don’t get to do it as often as I like, but I love to sing – I sang in college choirs, community choirs and at weddings & funerals. Now, I just torture my daughters in the car and occasionally embarrass them in front of their friends.

We are blessed with wonderful healthy kids, a close-knit family, a fantastic group of friends that make us laugh until our bellies ache, our dream home on a lake, and work we love with a fulfilling mission and purpose.
